Dior Couture

Dior couture

Ah, couture. It's one of those things that seems to be larger than life. It is one of those words that I think is overused a lot, which I find annoying as I consider it to be a true art. Unless I marry a Russian billionaire (any takers?) or become Anna Dello Russo, I will never be able to afford one of these creations but surely, I can dream.

One of my favourite couture shows this season has to be Dior with the genius that is Raf Simons at the helm. While some may think that this collection is boring compared to Galliano and the theatrics that he used to stage, I really enjoyed what Simons offered. Clean lines, beautiful 50s style dresses and his reinvention of the classic New Look. I am an avid fan of a tuxedo and Simons definitely delivered. If only I could afford it...
